ATOMIC WORDS
Privacy, simply put.
Atomic Words is designed to keep your vocabulary practice personal. Your language choices, selected topics, daily-word preferences, and learning progress are saved on your device so the app and widgets work offline. When the app is online, a copy of your settings and progress is synced to Firebase under an anonymous account created for this installation.
What we collect
The app stores the settings and progress you create so it can choose your daily word, display your streak, and keep your Home and Lock Screen widgets current. This information is not sold or used for advertising profiles. Firebase stores the anonymous account identifier, synced learning data, and vocabulary assigned to that account. A refill request includes your language pair, level, topics, and words already used. It selects words from a shared dictionary; it does not send your personal learning progress to OpenAI. New dictionary words are generated separately in a scheduled background job.
Notifications
If you opt in to a daily reminder, Atomic Words schedules that reminder locally on your device. You can turn it off at any time in the app's settings or iOS notification settings.
Purchases and ads
This release has no purchases or ads. If we enable Premium or rewarded ads in a future release, we will update this policy before they become available. Atomic Words does not sell your learning history.
Your choices
You can change your learning settings at any time. To permanently remove your saved words, progress, preferences, anonymous Firebase account, and its cloud learning data, open Learning settings → Your data → Delete my data and account. The app asks for confirmation and needs an internet connection if your data has synced. Removing the app alone does not delete its cloud copy. If you need help with an older installation, email support@atomicwords.app.
Analytics and crash reports
With your permission, Firebase Analytics records how you use the app and website, including page views and feature actions, and may use a pseudonymous device or browser identifier. We do not send vocabulary words or translations with these events. Firebase Crashlytics receives iOS crash reports and device diagnostics so we can fix stability issues.
You can change app analytics in Learning settings. To change website analytics, .
